Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Peekisode app and peekisode.com (“Peekisode”, “we”, operated from the Philippines) collect, why, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

If you use the app as a guest

A guest ID for your phone, based on your device’s app ID, so your coins, unlocks and rewards stay with you if you reinstall the app.

If you sign in (Facebook, Google or email)

Your name, email address and profile picture from the sign-in you chose, and an account ID.
A profile picture, if you choose to upload one.

Everyone

App activity: what you watch and read, your progress, unlocked episodes and chapters, liked and saved titles, coin balance and coin history, rewards claimed, and app settings.
Purchases: a record of the coins and VIP subscriptions you buy. Payments are handled by Google Play; we never see or store your card details.
Notifications: a push notification token, if you turn notifications on.
Device information: device and app-version information, and your phone’s time zone (used to show the right payout options to creators).
Feedback: if you use Send Feedback in the app, your message, any screenshot you choose to attach, and your app version and phone model.

If you join the creator program

Your creator email, creator display name, the content you submit, and a record of the creator terms you agreed to and when.
Payout details you give us to receive your earnings: the account holder’s name and a GCash or Maya mobile number, bank account number, or PayPal or Wise email.
If you leave the program or delete your account, the reason you give, if you choose to give one.

On peekisode.com

Launch notice: your email, if you ask to be notified when Peekisode launches. We use it only for that. The email will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you any time.
Creator submissions: your name, email, creator name, drama title, video link and message, used only to review your submission and contact you about it.
Investor form: your name, email and message, used only to reply to you.
Tester sign-up: your name and Play Store email, if you sign up to test the app before launch. We use them only to add you to the Google Play test and send you test updates, and we delete them after the test ends or when you ask.
Spam protection: when you send any of these forms, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to 24 hours, only to block repeated spam submissions. We can’t turn it back into your IP address.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on the website. See our Cookie Policy.

We only collect what’s needed for these purposes.

2. Advertising

Viewers who aren’t VIP may see ads, including optional ads you can watch to earn coins. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may collect your device’s advertising ID, approximate location (based on your IP address), app interaction and diagnostic information to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your phone’s settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone).

3. How we use information

To run the app: playback, reading progress, coins, unlocks, rewards, VIP and your saved lists.
To manage your account and keep it secure, including preventing fraud and abuse of free coins and rewards.
To send notifications you’ve turned on, such as new episodes and reminders to continue watching.
To send service emails, such as sign-in codes, purchase or account notices, and creator program emails.
To count views and engagement, which also decides creator earnings.
To pay creators and keep payout records.
To fix problems and improve the app, using the feedback you send.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with services that help us run Peekisode, and only what they need:

Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
Cloudflare: video streaming, website hosting, email forwarding and file storage.
Google Fonts: the website loads its fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
Google: Google Play (purchases and subscriptions), AdMob (ads), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications) and Google sign-in. If you sign up as a tester, your email is added to our Google Play Console tester list.
Meta: Facebook sign-in, if you choose it.
Expo: delivering push notifications and app updates (when the app checks for an update, your IP address, device type and app version are sent).
Resend: sending emails.
Payout providers (GCash, Maya, your bank, PayPal or Wise): only for creators, only the details needed to send a payout.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and Peekisode.

5. How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account.
Creator payout and withdrawal records, and a record of the creator terms you agreed to, are kept after deletion for accounting and legal reasons.
Guest information is kept while the guest profile is in use. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
Feedback you send, and any screenshot, is kept to help improve the app. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

6. Your choices and rights

Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by email. See peekisode.com/delete-account.
Turn off notifications any time in the app or your phone’s settings.
Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete guest data, by emailing [email protected]. We’ll reply within 30 days.

If you’re in the Philippines, you have rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, including the right to be informed, to access, correct and erase your data, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

7. Security

Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Coins, purchases and unlocks are checked on our servers, and access to stored data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children

Peekisode is for adults 18 and older. It is not meant for children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also let you know in the app.
